About

A warm welcome from Stoupa.nl and from the wonderful Mani area of southern Greece.

Let me introduce myself – my name is Trudy. I fell in love with Greece from the age of 16 when I first came to visit. Soon after I uprooted from The Netherlands to come to live here in 1981. Not long afterward, I landed in Stoupa where I became fully integrated and proud to have raised two wonderful Greek daughters – who now ‘fly the flag’ back in my home country alas – but I consider myself so fortunate to be here and to call Stoupa my home and now to share this with my partner Graham.

Apart from the vacation properties (two villas and one apartment) that are presented to you here, I spend my time in creative mode; spinning and weaving carpets and wall-hangings from a mix of local sheep wool and hair from long-haired goats, in my own humble way keeping old traditions alive and preventing natural products from going to waste. You are very welcome to ask me about this if this interests you, and some examples of my work adorn the walls of the villas and the apartment.

I am fluent in Greek, English (and Dutch of course) and we get by between us with a smattering of German, French, and Spanish (so Graham claims) also.

We look for ‘continual improvement’ in what we offer, actively working to keep the properties up-to-date and well taken care of. Together, we are aware that our guests are individual in mind and taste and we recognize that we may not always get it right, but we definitely try to accommodate all needs. Of course, suggestions are very welcome at all times; preferably verbal when we can still respond, rather than in a booking site review afterwards where any chance for explanation or correction is denied to us. We value returning customers, but know that the world is big out there and many may not return while exploring elsewhere – but our aim is to see that you, our guests, have a relaxed and pleasant stay and that you leave with happy memories to remember Stoupa with.

Within the website we provide more information on the self-catered accommodation options (each available for short or long stay, by arrangement) along with information and tips about the Mani; things to do locally and further afield in the Peloponnese while you are staying with us. We live very local to the properties and are invariably at hand to provide any assistance needed.

Please drill down through the links below – and don’t hesitate to ask for any further information or clarification.

I do so very much hope that I can welcome you personally in Stoupa, at some not too distant time.

ευχαριστώ
